In 2015, The Les Arcs Enduro2 (France) introduced its simple yet revolutionary uplift-assisted, pairs-format concept to 300 riders in the Northern Hemisphere. In that moment, Enduro racing became way more fun and many times more accessible to keen amateur riders; regardless of age, sex, number of sponsors, or the size of their social media following.

2 years (and many months of prime-single-track hunting) later, Davos Enduro2 (Switzerland) was announced….and all of it’s 450 places sold-out within seconds, such was the level of stoke.

This summer, the Southern Hemisphere will finally get its turn, and we could not be more excited to share this amazing format with you all. Having spent years riding in all of NZ’s top riding spots on both Islands, the organisers were left in no doubt of where Enduro2 NZ had to make its home: Nelson.

What is Enduro2?

We love bikes, we love racing, and most of all we love the memories and stories competing in an event with our mates creates. But racing can get so serious - fun is often replaced with anxiety, pressure and the anti-social format of ‘go fast at all costs’.

We missed the idea of simply adventuring with your best riding buddy; in starting and finishing together on all the fun parts, not just on the liaisons. We enjoy the focus having a goal gives you for the months leading up to an event. We wanted to put the emphasis on camaraderie and friendship, of high fives, of hugs and support, and of stopping mid-stage to help your mate (rather than riding straight over their flailing body as they block your path to a fastest-finish).

But how could this goal be achieved, whilst maintaining the key elements of any race: Challenge, Adventure, and Competition? The solution is simple: pick trails that are incredibly fun, don’t have a rigid format that every rider must adhere to, and complete the whole event in teams of two riders. The Enduro2 format was born.

 Who is Enduro2 for?

Simply put Enduro2 is for anyone who rides a mountain bike and enjoys grade 3 (intermediate) and grade 4 (advance intermediate) level trails and is looking for a fun challenge.

We developed Enduro2 to appeal to a wide range of rider types:

  • The casual mountain biker looking for a challenge

  • The regular riders, who usually ‘don’t do races’

  • The high octane racers ready for action. (ONE optional / bonus Grade 5 level trail is included in every day’s racing)

The formula we have developed (and successfully tested in Eurpoe) for Enduro2 has proven that we can create an event that delivers for a wide range of styles and fitness levels . We know you don’t need to ride the hardest trails to have fun, and fun is what Enduro2 is all about. We choose the race courses specifically to offer the perfect mix - you can trust us to leave you smiling. All our events focus on intermediate level trails - ride them at your pace, and challenge yourself with confidence.
